Ryan Mead
Country Musician
Hailing from just south of Sydney, Australia, 20 year-old Ryan Mead grew up immersed in the sounds of classic Honky Tonk. Thanks to his parents' years spent living in Wisconsin, Ryan was heavily exposed to American culture as a child and in turn, country music. Inspired by icons like Keith Whitley, George Strait, and Alan Jackson, Ryan’s passion for 80s and 90s country took hold early.
Blending his love for American Honky Tonk with his Australian upbringing, Ryan spent the past few years cutting his teeth on the Sydney music scene. Performing hundreds of shows across his home state, he became known for his captivating live performances and a sound steeped in nostalgia yet brimming with fresh energy. In 2023, he was selected for the esteemed Talent Development Project, graduating as one of just 12 participants as well being a HSC 'Encore' nominee. The release of his debut single, "Tangled Up in Wranglers," marked a high point in early 2024, earning nationwide radio play and media attention.
Now based in Boston, Ryan is pursuing his studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, immersing himself in American country music and its traditions.
